It is great news that this movie has won multi-Golden Globe awards.

The news that A R Rahman, the Indian Music Composer has won the award for best original music score brought cheers all around.

So naturally, we were also chatting about it and then came the following new compositions from me :) in the chat:

Friend: AR Rahman has achieved what no Indian artist has achieved before. What more can we ask?

Me: May be we can Ask ARR for an OscARR?

Then a thought came to me.  Since there is “Dog” in the title of the movie and we know that the current CM of Kerala likes “Dogs of War” why not remake this movie in Kerala, sorry, Malayalam.  For foreigners, you should take the Wikiledge from me that Malayalam is the most “widely” spoken language in the world as Malayalees live across the length, breadth, height and depth of the world.

So, if the movie is taken in Malayalam, what name can we give it? It should match the original name, it should please the CM Mr. Achuthanandan and it should also create a sense of belongingness for the Malayalees.  Then I came up with this name “Slum Dog Milli Nair”.

Very poor post! You hardly have any taste, and pathetic to note that you don’t check the facts despite being a self-professed accountant. Did you ever, ever try to understand the sort of questions that preceded Kerala CM’s alleged ‘dog comment’? All of India saw only that specific dialogue, but the context in which he said that, makes it absolutely reasonable; and he never meant it to be derogatory at all.

    Hi person named “Malayali”:

    Welcome to my post.

Thank you for reading my poor post and taking time to record your comments from Dubai.

It is unfortunate that you had to hide behind a nickname to post this comment. I would have still published your comment even if you wrote this with your own name.

I have to appreciate you that you are standing tall as the odd person out by seeing something different in the statement of Kerala CM from what “all of India” saw and finally what the Kerala CM himself saw so as to apologize for it publicly.

    Sathya.

Well to say the least Regionalism sucks.
I was very happy that Rahman said thank u to a Billion People of India.

I am proud of Rahman,I am proud of what he has done, I love his music and it doesn’t worry me one bit where he hails from.

    Tarun,

I totally agree with you. The motivation that his music is enjoyed by fans all across India and Indians living across the globe should have contributed to his hard work when composing music.

I was moved seeing him read the small sentence from a small slip that he carried with him and that disarming smile of his.

In my personal opinion, A R Rahman’s must have been THE humblest acceptance speech ever in the history of an award function of the size and importance of Golden Globe.

    Hi!

Well,”Kuppai Maettu Kuberan” would suit a Tamil Dubbing of the movie!

If the film was taken in Tamil, I will keep the name as ”தெரு கேடி to ஒரு கோடி” – with a by-line “From street corner to Fort”

    :)
