One excerpt form Srimad Andavan’s upanyasam:

Chakra gayathri is highly fruitful mantram. It cures all the ailments when chanted with shradhdha. But being a mantra it has to be chanted very correctly, in pronunciation and in tune. If not chanted properly it may lead to ill effects. Also not all are eligible to chant mantras.

To make the benefits available for everyone and to eliminate the ill effects when chanted incorrectly, Desikan gave this beautiful Stotra having the essence of Chakra Gayathri. Being a Stotra, it can be chanted by all and doesn’t have to fear for ill effects of chanting incorrectly. The fascination is that both the Gayathri and the first 8 slokas of the Stotra are of a lyrical meter consisting of 9 aksharas.
